Real Knowledge and Surface Knowledge

April 3, 2025

There are two types of knowledge: REAL KNOWLEDGE has depth. It is flexible and dynamic. It can be leveraged differently because the topic is understood, not memorized. It is only acquired through hours of working on a specific craft. SURFACE KNOWLEDGE is the opposite. It’s the amount of knowledge required to sound smart at a party or post on social media and claim to be a “guru,” but it fails when put under any degree of scrutiny. There is a vast difference between truly knowing something and sounding smart by talking about it. Many problems in the world result from people with Surface Knowledge masquerading as people with Real Knowledge. Seek to build real knowledge in your own endeavors and support those with real knowledge in theirs. #PassionPurposeProductivity
