Teaching Somebody A Lesson

So…You’re upset and you want to teach somebody a lesson? Ask first:
1. Will the person learn and not fight back more defensively and aggressively?
2. Would you yourself be happier doing so?
Perhaps better than wanting to teach a person a lesson, an action to consider is to learn from the experience and figure out a more strategic way to influence the person to become better. This requires skills in effective communications but more importantly a lot of maturity and professionalism and a heart of concern for wanting others to improve. It’s more effective this way.
