Mourning a Loss

July 8, 2012

It has been said that “A man should be mourned at his birth, not at his death. ” But how could we not mourn when we suffer a loss?

Today this country suffers the loss of a person I highly respect; entrepreneur, educator and family friend Brenda Yu. But his influence, his inspiration and the lives he has touched lives on and multiply.

I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of a great soul. Prof. Brendan Yu. He was our Speaker during our Pre Opening at St. Paul University Quezon City. I was moved by the simplicity and generosity of this Philanthropist /Speaker/Educator. I was reading today The Philippine Star Business Matters of Francis J. Kong, and I wanted to send him my positive feedback about his article on WHAT DO THEY LACK? However, when I opened his website, I was shocked to read that Brendan Yu has passed away. I will be offering prayers for the repose of his soul and for the bereaved family. I just met him during our seminar; that was my first and last time to see him. I wanted to congratulate him after his talk but he was so busy entertaining other well – wishers. In my heart, I am certain that this country has been blessed by a person like Brendan Yu. My deep sympathy…. Sir Brendan, these fervent prayers come from someone you truly and silently inspired both by the nobility of your person and the sincerity of your words. Thank you Prof. Brendan Yu. Your words have left soft spots in our hearts- they will continue to inspire us all in more ways than one. Jojo/JSF
