Leadership Skills are Life Skills

The more training I do the more I am convinced that leadership skills are life skills and the principles for effective leadership applies not only in the work place but in the homes as well. This is why it is so disappointing to find speakers or trainers teaching something and then behaving in a different way. Personal Excellence deal with authenticity and should never have duplicity of character. Is this a valid observation?
