Hearing and Listening

Hearing is not the same as listening. Hearing is effortless, easy, and automatic. You may be sitting in your corner sipping coffee or reading your email with the TV open. You hear things. Listening requires effort. You have to be intentional. To focus on both the spoken as well as the unspoken words and to understand what is being said.
