Building Up or Tearing Down

Today I had a great time doing a whole day-training for the leaders of a financial institution; glad to be back working. One thing I have learned about leaders is this: There are leaders who build up and there are leaders who tear down. Leaders who build up inspire people to become better while leaders who tear down drive good people away. Which ones are more (in your opinion)? Those who build up or those who tear down? Please share.
