I reply to messages quickly, and so do the successful business people I know. Busy doesn’t mean unreachable.
It’s hard to trust someone who takes hours (or forever) to return a call or reply to a message. It’s also difficult to respect someone who keeps checking their phone instead of giving you their full attention. These aren’t “old-fashioned” rules. They’re classic work etiquette.
