The most expensive thing you own is your attention. Stop giving it away for free.
What are some things stealing your attention without giving anything back?
Doomscrolling. You sit down for “just five minutes” and surface forty-five minutes later exhausted, irritated, and somehow more uninformed than before. The algorithm got fed. You did not.
Watching the lives of strangers more closely than your own. You know what a celebrity wore yesterday but cannot remember what your spouse said at breakfast.
Gossip. Other people’s drama is the cheapest entertainment in the world. It also leaves you spiritually broke.
Comparison. Measuring your private struggles against someone else’s curated highlight reel. You are comparing your behind-the-scenes to their movie trailer.
The opinions of people who do not love you, do not pay you, and do not pray for you. Why give weight to voices that have not earned it?
Worry about things you cannot control. Traffic. Weather. The exchange rate. You will spend the energy. You will not change the outcome.
Endless news cycles designed to enrage, not inform. Outrage is a business model. Your nervous system is the product.
Do not place your attention on things that do not carry value or bring you closer to long-term success. Guard it. Direct it. Invest it. Attention is the most honest form of love and the most underpaid form of work. #PassionPurposeProductivity
