SUNDAY MEDITATION: Take time to count your blessings. Gratitude and anxiety don’t live in the same space. God leads us to peace through a heart that remembers to give thanks. When complaints try to take over, be selective with your thoughts. Choose to focus on what’s good. Choose gratitude. There are moments when God quiets the storm. Other times, He quiets His child. No storm was fiercer than the one Jesus faced in the Garden of Gethsemane. And no prayer was more heartfelt than the one He prayed that night. The cross wasn’t a mistake; it was part of the plan to rescue us. God didn’t stop the storm, but Jesus still walked toward it in peace. That kind of peace is possible for you, too. So, trust Him. Talk to Him. Thank Him. My prayer is that He calms whatever storm you’re facing. But if not, may He calm you. And may you experience the peace of God that goes beyond anything you can explain (Philippians 4:7). (Inspired by Max Lucado)
